High-power piezoelectric ceramic sheet
A high-power piezoelectric ceramic chip is a type of piezoelectric ceramic component that can efficiently convert electrical energy into mechanical energy (or vice versa) and is capable of withstanding and outputting relatively high power. It serves as the core component of piezoelectric transducers. Operating based on the piezoelectric effect (the reversible conversion between mechanical energy and electrical energy), compared with ordinary piezoelectric ceramic chips, its design places more emphasis on high-power bearing capacity, heat dissipation performance, and structural stability. It is widely used in industrial ultrasound (cleaning, welding), underwater acoustic detection, high-power vibration equipment and other scenarios.
Specification
1. Rated Power and Maximum Power
- Rated Power: The input power for long-term stable operation (e.g., 500W, 1kW). Exceeding this value will cause a sharp temperature rise.
- Maximum Power: The peak power that can be withstood for a short time (pulse mode). For example, a ceramic chip rated at 1kW can reach a peak of 3-5kW. It must match the pulse width (e.g., no damage within 10ms).
2. Electromechanical Coupling Coefficient (k)
- Measures the coupling efficiency between electrical and mechanical energy (e.g., planar coupling coefficient k·p, thickness coupling coefficient k·t). Medium k values are required for high-power scenarios (e.g., k·p≈0.5 for PZT-8) to balance efficiency and mechanical strength. Too high a k value may increase material brittleness and cause cracking under strong vibration.
3. Curie Temperature (Tc)
- The critical temperature at which piezoelectric properties disappear. High-power ceramic chips require high Tc (e.g., Tc≈300°C for PZT-8) to avoid "depolarization" (loss of piezoelectric function) due to long-term heating.
4. Mechanical Quality Factor (Q·m)
- A parameter reflecting vibration energy loss (v = Stored Energy / Loss Energy). High-power ceramic chips have high Q·mvalues (e.g., Q·m>1000 for PZT-8), resulting in less energy loss, reduced heating, and suitability for continuous high-power operation.
